New Brietling Avengers

Happy new year! My first post for 2024, wanted to ask your thoughts on the recently introduced Breitling Avenger. They look great and especially the night mission chronograph models, however it's not cheap at USD 9500. Would this be worth considering? Haven't had the chance to try one at the AD yet.

I went to the boutique in my city. The thing I notice is the watches I was unimpressed with seeing in their websites or marketing, looked gorgeous in person. The Avengers were one of the watches I took time to marvel at.

I have one good friend who is a serious enthusiast but quite dogmatic about his likes and dislikes, having just returned from Dubai he texted me a message to show me his new old 48mm black steel Super avenger purchased for 30% off from an ad we are both super familiar with. He is upset with the downsizing to 44mm or smaller which is a design decision that upsets a lot of older Breitling fans. I decided to check out the new watches myself, they are amazing but definitely not for community members who have not owned the brand. I have a few watches that are being ordered in so I need to pass on the new Avengers, with some regret having targeted a ceramic AVI GMT that I intend to purchase in the new year. The watches are even more expensive here in Canada no longer available with deep discounts, full list at B boutiques perhaps with minimum discounts of 10% from ads where the customer has some history. Breitling do produce a lot of watches, some people will find slow sellers at discounted pricing but I suspect the Avengers with the in house movements will not be in that grouping unless the watches fail.

That would depend on what you are looking for when you ask if they are "worth" considering. It its purely from a technical standpoint (movement, quality of materials) then you can't go wrong with the recent Avenger models. The B01 is a proven movement, and #breitling is notoriously known for their superb quality.

Is it worth $9500? Honestly, the main question now should be if you are willing to spend that much for that specific look or if it fits your lifestyle.

Personally I think it is an amazing watch.

Are they making their own movement? For $9500 I’d hope it’s not just an ETA

Edit: it appears to be the COSC certified Breitling 01 in-house movement

This is so much better in person , the yellow dial is also beautiful. If anyone has the chance to go to the Birmingham bull ring boutique , they have both variants

I went and took a serious look at the yellow dial version just before Christmas. I’m a fan. I think they knocked it out of the park with the yellow dial
