Grand Seiko novelties event

Attended the Grand Seiko Novelties 2023 event organised by a watch group that I am in.

Been a fan of their dials but somehow didn't really connect to their collection on a whole even I am more inclined towards dress watches. Thoughts on GS? Like them personally but probably not at this price point. Especially the bracelet are rather chunky.

I’m a fan of GS from esthetics alone but I would want to do more H.W before I where to invest.

I love GS as a brand and their dial designs are masterful. Worth the price if someone really wanted it.

GS is special! They do things that other brands don’t. They also don’t do some of the things we’ve come to expect from their Swiss bretheren.

My wife sometimes places my watches in a safe place and forgets about them, I found my GS White Birch in one of her cubbies this morning and put it on since I haven’t seen it a few days. It is just special, don’t know why I need another watch.

I have not sourced a Spring Drive but it will be my next watch purchase.

Spring Drive technology is incredible and the dials are amazing.

I thought the bracelet was fine on the SBGA211 that I tried on, but aesthetically, I would change to a grey strap.
