Need alternatives!!

Hey crunchers.

The gmt master 2 seems to be the only gmt with a rotating bezel and thinness that I can think of that wears well.

The alternatives are either too thick, no rotating bezel, called gmt, or over 44mm.

Getting a Batman/pepsi is out of reach, so I was wondering if any crunchers has any true alternatives!!

Thanks!

What about the Fortis Flieger Triple-GMT. Kenissi based real GMT movement, COSC, 3 time zones. 70 hr powerreserve, 20ATM, titanium, 5 yr warranty also on WR. Slideclasp.

A not mass produced product 😊

It’s almost like double wristing!!!

If thickness is important to you, I‘d say check out the Lorier Hyperion Series II. Same Miyota 9075 as in the Hydra, but about 2 mm thinner (10.7 mm + 2 mm crystal). Of course it’s difficult to call these a real alternative to a GMT Master II but they‘re traveller GMTs as well. Even if the similarities might end there 😂

I suspect we‘ll see a lot more watches from microbrands housing the Miyota 9075 in the near future. So if this is something you would consider but the currently available models don’t excite you, there could be something coming that is just right for you.

Go to Gnomon and type GMT into the search bar. They have nine pages of choices from Steinhart and Squale to Yema, Glycine and Seiko.

Jack Mason Strat-o-timer Dark Knight.

It is overall a different watch, but I would certainly recommend you look into Jack Mason’s Strat-o-timer. Very well built, “true” gmt via the Miyota 9075, bidirectional 24-hour bezel, water resistant to 200m, has a killer bracelet (if it fits your wrist). I’d say it’s the best GMT in the price range, and punches a little above its weight at that.
