I bought this vintage handwind watch, do you know this brand (CERNOS)? What do you think of it?

Please give me your thoughts about this vintage watch CERNOS.

Tell us what you know and what you suspect. Unless it was just handed to you, you must have done some research before reaching for your wallet. A photo of the movement always helps.

I'm not familiar with the brand but that's a stunningly gorgeous watch.

How is a starter ever going to get a win when you go to the bullpen so quickly?

He is going to tell us that it is French with an off the shelf Swiss lever escapement movement. I am more interested in his opinion of the dial and case.  For example, is it NOS, gently restored, or redialed? Given its age, I would expect some brassing and pitting on the back side. (I doubt that it is redialed, why would you bother?) I would guess 1955-63, but that could be off either way.

Having taken a quick look, it is likely French - the only Cernos with movement pics that I could find had a Lorsa inside.

I agree with @Aurelian that it's probably from the late 1950s, early 1960s are a possibility here as well.

Judging by the edges of the case, probably unrestored, just in great shape. Bottom line, I don't think anyone would pay for that level of restoration work unless the watch was of tremendous sentimental value.

Would help to see the back and the movement. We won't tell you much more, except the case material and what's the movement inside

I just sent back a watch with a Lorsa P75 because it’s idea of time was… loose. That one was mid 60s with a sweep second.

That look like the srpe margarita, cousin to my Mojito 🙂
