Watch travel roll.

A little message to mention my thoughts on watch rolls or storage box.

I do a bit of travelling and always like to take several watches with me, the problem is the storage of the watches in the case and in the room when I reach my destination. Most rooms have a room safe and so I like to store my watches in the safe. The problem is that a watch box is too big. I have a watch roll but they only take 3 watches and packing in my case takes space. Thus I looked at a leather watch roll that would lie flat and be easy to put in the safe, and I have found one that fits the bill, some I have looked at are skimpy on the leather only allowing the strap to be pocketed and thus the face is not protected 100% etc. Also there is plenty of room for divers or flieger type watches, some rolls I have seen look as if they could only fit very small/ slim watches.

This is why I am sharing my findings with you all. I have fount a supplier on ebay that makes watch rolls and I think they are good. The leather is supple and they give you a small leather back protector so the back of the watch does not get scratched if it is a bracelet. It is well made and they come in various pocket amounts.

I have put a link if anyone is interested.

The company is leathercraftez

I will also add, I think they are so good, I have just purchased another 4 pocket roll from them today. The only problem is the company is in Belarus and it takes a month for the item to arrive, but it is worth the wait.

I have a canvas roll I use for traveling, and I like it.  That said, I’ll check these out.

I should also point out that storing your watches in a hotel room safe isn’t very…safe. It’s my understanding that hotel employees can often gain access to them. At the least, you should change the combination when you check in. Even then, the hotel must have a way to open safes, so I’m sure there’s a key or master code. Bottom line, you aren’t the only person who can he into that safe.

Cheers.

I've used both a watch roll and a small three-watch box to travel with and don't really have a preference. The roll is, of course, lighter, which makes is preferable to car trips; the hard shell box is better for air travel.
