The Mickey 100th aniversary automatic watch!

A few days ago, while strolling at La Cantera shops in San Antonio, TX, I was drawn to the Fossil store, a watch brand I’ve come to respect over time. As I approached, a beautiful automatic watch caught my eye, themed for Valentine’s Day - a Mickey with a bow and arrow. However, it was the watch next to it that truly grabbed my attention.

It was the special edition for the 100 years celebration; an automatic watch with small seconds, loom in gloves, Miyota caliber from the 82S5 series (Citizen) with a small second hand, caliber visible on the back, and a 42-hour power reserve. The crown features Mickey’s silhouette in steel, bordered in red and a stamped Mickey in the back.

I loved it because, since I was a child, I always ended up getting the inexpensive quartz ones during trips to Disney, back then sponsored by Lorus.

Ingersoll was the first brand to introduce the Mickey Mouse mechanical wristwatches in 1933, contributing significantly to the character's popularity, so after multiple quartz versions from Lorus, Seiko, Citizen, Fossil and Swatch, this 100th anniversary automatic version by Fossil was a “must have” (this is what I told my wife) 😉

Have a nice day!

Love the Mickey watch

·

I like it.

[begin Rant]

Mickey's hands are the watch hands. That's the way it's supposed to be. I don't like it when watch companies put a character (with hands) on the dial and then use normal watch hands for time-telling. That defeats the entire purpose of having the character on the watch!

Exactly hands should be hands!

I believe you can still get them as they were released on October of las year. Check the Fossil website. I’m really happy with it as it is an “adult” Mickey Mouse collector’s watch.

I love mine but it has horribly crap lume.
