Got it since I couldn't get an explorer 36 if I walk in. Now, I wouldn't trade it for an explorer 36.

I really miss my BB36 as well …. Which did go when I got my Explorer. But what a great watch it was
Beautiful watch. I have the black dial. The smiley dial is definitely one to have. Seems to have its own unique charm that the new newer black bays don’t have. Defo not an explorer alternative and I’m with you 100%, I’m not going to give my money to Rolex who make it obvious they don’t value everyone’s custom evenly!

I understand that Rolex sells a large number of watches. But the demand is even bigger. They overmarketed beyond their capacity to fulfill the demand. They are nice watches. Their "scarcity" is blessing though so that we see other beautiful watches.

Sure. The bb36 didn't scratch the itch for you. In my situation, I still appreciate the explorer as a watch. I may even acquire one. But the bb36 has its special place and would be painfully missed. The explorer wouldn't take its place. It may still hold its own.
