Digital Watches: Do You Use the Hourly Beep/Chime?

I personally started using the hourly beep/chime on my digital (and ana-digi) watches when I started working from home but, honestly, wish I had started using it sooner. It's wild how well it helps me stay mindful of my time.

How about y'all? Do you use the hourly beep/chime? Do you dislike it? I'd love to hear your opinions! :)

Yes! I always keep a G-Shock near my desk with hourly chime on. I really wish mechanical watches had hourly bells as a common option.

I have a G-Shock that I keep the chime on, for the exact reason you mentioned...it's just a gentle reminder of the top-of-the-hour! I have to remember to keep it out of the bedroom, or turned off in there, though, because my wife is a light sleeper. That little thing wakes her up! I could sleep through about 8 of those!

These vintage Casios also have a half hourly chime so cool

Whaaaat!? Ohmygoodness, I was unaware. Looks like I may have another watch to dream about! :D Thanks for sharing!

I always turn it off, I hate having my watch beep randomly while doing something.

I have all my gshocks’ chimes turned on.  Of course that means I need to sync them every week.  I’ve even started sleeping with an m5610 on my wrist, and it doesn’t wake me.

when I wear a digital watch, I do often use the hourly chime. Its a nice macro awareness of the passing time and can snap you out of wasting time!

·

I can't hear my G-Shock beep, unless I hold it right up to the ear. The alarm is useless. My hearing is starting to go. Aging sucks.

You guys are crazy. That's too much pressure, it would stress me out something chronic.

·

I agree. Amazing how it sorta makes you realize the passage of time. I leave it on when I’m working, but turn it off when I’m just hanging out or at the house, just so I’m more present wherever I am. Handy feature.

Yes! I like my beeps and alarms, also am a big fan of stop watch and count down timer.
