Recently I began wondering if the Seiko 5 Time Sonar is the best fit for me as a daily watch. I can't think of a better one, but I thought I would use your expertise. I will list some of my top priorities and some of my less important preferences.
Things I really want:
Quirky
Day Date Function
Bracelet
Less than $1500
Things that would be pretty nice:
Thin (8-12mm)
Good Lume
Versatility

I’m a big big Seiko fan. I love that see through dial. While I’m more of an skx person I see the appeal. What about a citizen diver as well?
I like that watch but the dial might be too much for a daily. Staying in the Seiko5 family is the DressKX.
If you are going for quirky then this would fit the bill. But the dressKX is a much better daily option since it fits all your criteria except quirky.
Maybe you will find the cement dial variant quirky SRPG63
It is. Get the 38mm version which is one of its kind. Do consider citizen eco drive or Casio tough solar if you’re into quartz. You can also look at Longines as they have several models below 1500$
