Exploring New Ideas for WatchCrunch: Your Input Needed!
I had a couple of ideas that I've been considering emailing to WatchCrunch. However, I thought it might be prudent to gauge initial interest before proceeding. These ideas are closely related and can be summarized as follows:
The first idea involves creating a dedicated page or tab for "State of the Collection" (SOTC) posts. This section could be incorporated into users' profiles, allowing them to regularly update and edit it. This feature would enable users to quickly view and understand others' collections, aiding in the decision of whom to follow based on shared interests.
The second idea builds on the same concept, but with a focus on showcasing three-watch collections. Participants would have the option to share three watches from their personal collection or even outline their "dream three watch collection."
Both concepts have proven to be highly engaging within the community, prompting multiple daily posts. I personally enjoy the browsing experience of "What Are You Wearing" (WRUW) threads and believe a similar approach could effectively be applied to these ideas as well. What are your thoughts on this?

The 3 watch collection one though I'm not sure about. It might make us feel guilty for having more than that number. I get enough guilt from my kid & wife. 😉

My wife and daughters are too busy absconding with some of my favourite watches to lecture or guilt me. I have actually started to place a few at places where they will not look.

It would be great for the person posting it to be able to track the evolution of their collection, but also for others to see who has similar taste!

Yeah, the three watch collection idea probably wouldn't work as well... It is just such a prominent theme on the site! Feels like 5 are posted a day!

And some people have upwards of 100 watches... But similar to WRUW you would only need to post/update it if you were so inclined. I understand if you aren't super interested in the idea though!

My family are most important persons in my life, nothing matters except their happiness and well being. I am sure all WC members feel the same sentiments.
