This is a vintage Seiko Quartz Day/Date my Aunt picked up for me at a garage sale. She goes all over to garage sales and flea markets and if she sees a watch, watches, or anything watch related, she usually picks it up for me. I usually resale, but I kind of dig this one. I like the jubilee-style bracelet and the clasp. It's like a Rolex President homage. I just replaced all the split pins in the bracelet as well, the original ones were falling apart. It's either from 1997 or 2007. I'm thinking 97 just going by the look of it. Anyway I've noticed watches like these coming back into fashion, and it's cool to have a genuine article. Thanks Aunt Pam!

Update: Apparently this particular watch was made in 1987!

Very nice. It's definitely not 2007. It might even be 1987.

That would be even cooler. I want a birth year watch, still 7 years off though

I have the same watch👍 I think the 5y23 movement came out around 1987. The newer models don't have the SQ logo.

That's awesome to know Thanks for the info. The online Seiko serial number decoder i used is a little off I guess! I had a couple others that I wish I'd checked but I sold them before I checked them They were really small on me I think one may have been a women's watch for sure The other one possibly or may have just been a really small men's watch (the square case one)
