Quartz is underrated. I too lately have been thinking and enjoying a quartz movement.

I've only had the strap for about 2 months. I had to replace the buckle a couple of weeks ago. But the strap itself is doing okay. Not bad considering I only payed €9 at a gypsy market.

Funny story. We were travelling through Portugal and we saw cork belts for sale everywhere (Portugal is a huge producer of cork) and I thought it would be great to have a cork strap. Try as I did, I couldn't find one anywhere.

About a month later, we were wandering around a gypsy market in Spain, when Mr's Y noticed a stall selling cheap watches with wooden cases and cork straps.

We asked if he sold the straps separately and before we knew it he had whisked a strap off one of his watches and said €15. My wife being my wife proceeded to haggle him down to €9.. and it suited the Weekender perfectly 🤓

What a salesman but your wife was more than a match!
