First Watch Options

I’m in the market for my first watch. I was looking at the PRX, a lot of different Seikos and then I stumbled upon this. Can’t decide on the date option or open heart. Budget is about $1,000, any recommendations?

Personally I would look at the Christopher Ward C63 at this price point and style.

A little over my price range, have a few gift cards but thanks for the advice I appreciate it!

This watch was one of my first also and it’s just a fantastic piece. I went with the date since it’s a bit more practical and useful. Also, while the movement is nice, it’s not particularly something I want to see in this case. That said, can’t go wrong either way. That blue dial still holds up as one of the best blues in the industry IMHO. That’s another reason to get the one with the date, more dial! 😂 good luck 😎👍🏼

The CW C63 (39mm) with the light catcher case is $995…Gentleman is a solid choice…check Hamilton (Murph etc) lots of other micro options also

·

Also, look at Certina and Mido…both in that range

Tbh, most people grow out of the open heart phase. Of course everyone is different, and no shame in liking open hearts. But there's a high likelihood you'll regret the open heart. Whereas the non-open heart is timeless.

Unless it’s done right, open-heart love tends to fade…

For budget what you have.... you have many options..just check on Ashford and Jomashop putting filter for price range what you have....I think Hamilton, Edox will be great options ...In my opinion go for Edox...

Avoid open-heart watches - people who just get into the hobby like them but most people's taste drifts away relatively shortly.

·

I found this online for under 1000.00 Cdn.

I just searched blue dial Swiss watch under $900.00.

I would avoid the Powermatic movement tbh. There are so many micro brands out there right now at or below that price point. There was a great micro brand March madness tournament that was just held here. Check that out for a great resource.

The Gentleman date is going to be a classier watch in the long term. To be honest, the powermatic movement is not much to look at, and after you get to know other watches, the open heart will start to feel a bit amateurrish.

What’s wrong with P80? I own one and it’s very accurate.

Open heart = Shopping channel watch ;-)
