What are the unexpected heroes of your watch collection?

It is easy to buy your way to an awesome watch if money is not an issue. But, I want to see the watches that stole your hearts by surprise. My best example is my Seiko Arnie. It's a giant lump of a thing. On paper it should be way too big for my very un-arnie-like wrist AND it's a quartz (hrmpfff!!) By all accounts this purchase was an experiment that should have failed. Instead, it is very near the top of my rotation, it is ridiculously comfortable to wear, and I love the rough look.

Merkur Dirty Dozen. It is my cheap little handwind homage that is awesome to wear.

I think the Arnie is next on my list.

Nothing beats a nice field watch 😊👍

G-Shock. I never expected to wear it as much as I do. I remember I wanted to keep it nice, so don’t wear it everyday right. Boy was I wrong, this thing is a tank that never Scratches. Super light as well🙂

I think it’s my sub from Orange watch company. A Australia micro brand that I think is made better than Tudor for half the price

That was exactly what I was looking for with this post. Owning more expensive watches, has actually made me appreciate these budget gems even more!

A 1998 Swatch Irony. I forgot I had it, found it buried at the bottom of a box and cleaned it up. It’s worn every week now, I can’t get enough of it.

My Swatch Irony before cleaning it up. I think after shave had eaten away the surface of the crystal.
