I have that exact same watch. I still don't know why I love it : it's heavy, it's big, it's boring, that bezel is a magnet for scratches... but I really love it nonetheless! 🥰

The newest references are to big for my little wrist, the 16570 is the only one that can fit my wrist aha. And that's a good thing, because it's my absolute favorite, and maybe my favorite Rolex of all times 🥰

"Commemorating" is probably the wrong word. Sadly, I lost my grandmother last year, and she left me and my sister a "little" amount of money. I wanted to spend that money in a "forever watch," a strong memory. So, this Explorer II is more than "just a watch." ☺️
