The Comeback of the Sinn 903 Navitimer in 2024...(at Watches and Wonders?)

This year the time has finally come.

The Sinn 903 is coming back. Sinn stopped production over 2 years ago. They wanted to revise the model. Especially the movement. Sinn cooperated with a movement manufacturer to develop an exclusive movement.

It was not stated to what extent the new movement was completely redeveloped, whether it was based on the previous movement or whether only a few improvements were made to the existing movement.

The new Sinn 903 will be presented later this year. Since Sinn will have its own stand at Watches and Wonders , it can be assumed that it will be presented there. Which for me personally would be one of the biggest highlights of the fair.

For those who don't know the 903, here's a quick overview:

Many years ago, when Breitling was in a poor financial situation, it sold the license to produce the Navitimer to Sinn. The Sinn 903 is therefore not a homage or copy, but an official Navitimer. For many it is even a better Navitimer, as Sinn managed to increase the water resistance to 10ATM in this complex case (Breitling 3ATM) and was still significantly cheaper. I think it was offered for around 3,000 euros at the time. For comparison: today the cheapest Breitling Navitimer starts at 8,000 euros.

However, you should expect that the new price will probably not be the same as the old one, but will still be significantly lower than Breitling. So if you want to buy a legendary chronograph in 2024 (or later), you should wait a few more months. It might be worth it.

After the announcement of the discontinuation of production and the sale of the last regular models, the prices for used models and the gray market naturally also increased. Hopefully with the reintroduction the prices there would also fall.

Looking forward to the release, I just hope they keep the price reasonable. Any insights on the price?

Unfortunately no. The only hint I get was, that it will go up.

But Sinn was always a reasonable manufacturer and never a luxury fancy brand.

By comparing to the 900, starting at 3750, I think we can expect something similar. Propably for around 4K. Which also would mean a rise of 20%. But still half price of the Breitling. At least it would be my hope not be more expensive.

Can’t wait see it live and in person!

Me either. But as I know the Sinn product policy, they will propably not change much at their design. I think basicly it will still look like a classical Navitimer. But the major change will be in their movement. But let's see on April.

I love the origional Navitimer design. I’ve got an old 806 from the 60’s that I think has a timless and classic chronograph dial. However, due to its age it gets worn sparingly. Would welcome a reissue of the Sinn as is more robust and captures the origional Navitimer design better than the more ‘shinny’ (and expensive!) modern Breitlings.

Actually judging by the picture your watch aged very well!

Thanks for the post! Didn’t know about this story.

If it’s Navigator size - definitely not my size league. My next purchase will most likely be Sinn 6068B from Financial District line. But it uses Sellita movement as a base with just additional decoration. Interesting what is meant by “cooperation with movement manufacturer” in context of Navitimer. Maybe something from higher shelf like Dubois Dépraz or La Joux-Perret…

They didn't tolled any further information about the manufacturer yet of course.

The most lickely is a colaboration with Kenissi, by my opinion, who already delivered several movements to Breitling, including Chrono movements. The connection is already there, aswell as the knowledge about the Navitimer.

Some speculated that the new 903 will also have the 4th crown removed and go back to the Navitiwer stile rotating bezel. Can't remember the model, but they have a similar watch with the rotating bezel and 200m water resistance. That would be amazing too!

Sure hope so

Specially if they keep the LJP column wheel valjoyx clone movement

Such a crazy value watch

I would definetly get one 🍺
