So i have this vintage Omega (it was my grandfathers watch) and I need some help identifying it. I have been told by a local watch retailer that has a watch shop that it is real. Any help is welcome.

I think it's a Calatrava.

Closest I could find.
If your grandfather served in the Swedish army during WWII I think @Velomax is on the right track. During the war the government imported a military and a civil model from Omega. The military version was handed out to the army and the civil version, the Suverän, was sold at AD.

Yes it is possible that he served during that time period but im not sure. Because he died when i was very young
I'm always careful when using the word "Calatrava" to describe any vintage watch. Calatrava was only ever used by one company, Patek Phillippe, as the name of a line of dress watches. No other company referred to their watches as "Calatrava," but it has become a term often misused by sellers to sell vintage watches.
As always, the only way to know is to open the caseback to see if there is a reference number. Then you can look for a caliber number on the movement and a serial number on the movement to date it.
Sorry, no help identifying it, but under the crystal that dial looks to be in pretty good condition. ❤️
