As watch collector’s I personally have become more sophisticated in this hobby and more knowledgeable as time has gone on , like anything we become interested in .
I go minimalist. I'm just searching for the perfect watch really. Not found a really perfect one yet so I have a few for now - but I don't want more than 3 (including one beater for dirty work).

I think might be able to get down to 4 , similar strategy in my mind also ..
Sell, what does that mean? Started with a Speedy which I thought would be my only watch (oh well) and I have bounced back and forth around the price spectrum ever since. Many affordable (i.e. under $1000/ mostly under $600) and some less affordable watches.
I agree with the same sentiments as yourself :) I am taking two from my ten watches also , gifting those to my wife’s nephews as they need the time and have no money . They are Thai boys in the rice fields there and if they want a better job they need to be punctual to work , so I can live with that decision, I am selling a prized Stowa Flieger as it just doesn’t make practical sense to wear a watch with 30 mtrs of water resistance, I am an ocean person and it just doesn’t get worn enough, and I will make room to go on another watch hunt :) Yes its a journey isn't it !

Exactly, and it's a journey best made with fellow watch nerds to show off our loot to and admire each others wrist candy. Salute to the brotherhood/sisterhood! 🍻

So I just sell when something is no longer good for me.

D, none of the above.

B as I'm close to 10 watches in my collection (a point where I have to stop both because of financial and consolidating my collection).
As much as I hate the thought of selling any of my watch that would be the only way to go forward with a reasonable rotation.
