Snap on case back

I change the batteries in my quartz watches myself because I have so many, it would cost a small fortune to bring them to a store.  I know how to open the case back, but some of them are so difficult to open.  Is that because they are new and it is their first battery change?  Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

To state the obvious, you're using a case back knife and finding the lip or groove for prying, right? I think there's a bit of sliding or rocking the knife instead of a lifting twist? Wearing it around a bit to get the case back lightly warmed up may help.

Thank you Oscar, that is great advice.  I do use a case back knife, but I I'll try that rocking move the next time I have to open one up.  That may be the way to go because it shouldn't be as hard as it is for me.

My understanding based on some video somewhere is that it's more about working the wedge in than trying to pop it like a bottle opener.
