Got my attainable Grail a few years ago, adore it
I have finally arrived at the personal realization that a grail watch even one that might be categorized as attainable does not exist in my journey which is certainly consistent with my attitude during the past 4 decades in the hobby. A few years ago after picking up an Oris Diver 65 that was a nostalgic purchase to recall an Oris gifted to me in 1965 from my mom, the affable young ad introduced me to a platinum FP Journe Moonphase that he had just received from the agent. It was around 70k cad an amount that is just slightly stupid for a regular guy to spend on a watch. Last week I was finally able to stop by to pick up a special order black ceramic HydroConquest watch that is one of several black ceramic watches that I have purchased this year. Giorgio has become a friend, since it was morning not busy we chatted about life as immigrants to Canada over short espresso coffees. I mentally added up my purchases during the few years that I have been his customer, realized that if the platinum Moonphase had been an object of greater desire, I could have easily afforded it by saving during the same period. So I muddle on content with the occasional watch purchase to keep my interest fresh. Perhaps in the back of my mind without a grail watch, there is also no end.
I’ve got my 2 attainable grails this year.
Of course there are others I’d like to add. I really want a Zenith chrono. I love the Tank Louis.
But I’m happy to just enjoy these for a while and use my money on more important things.

Oris has some great offerings!

I was looking for a pointer date but the Oris in house model in your photo is over 5k cad here in Toronto, compared to much more modest sums for the Selitta movement iterations. I guess that will be one watch that must wait.
Omega speedy for sure
Can't go wrong with GO!
