Absolutely love the Spaceveiw - looks amazing on that strap too!
My birth year watch:
It’s funny as I was interested in the Spaceview (engineering background) but not avid (sizing I think cooled me) so I was able to let a lot pass me by before buying this very reasonably (my birth year 1966).
And now that I have it I am bowled over by it. The bund really helps it size wise and the accuracy is amazing for nearly 60 years old. So now I think I got a bargain!
Fellow Cruncher @Crazy_Dana pointed out that yours and mine use Germanium transistors that were phased out in the late 1960s. Like mine (and Crazy_Dana’s) yours uses the original contemporaneous conversion handset.
Is your dial/crystal lumed?
I’m still learning/researching these but I can see why the Canadian railways were so enthusiastic about them when they came out and supplanted mechanical watches.

I have the railroad one too. Just not the Canadian railroad one. The Canadian one has the second ring of numbers to give it a 24 hour dial.
I have noticed ever since I posted mine on a bund strap it seems like everybody’s Accutron is on a bund strap! This may be the first time in history I have ever been a fashion leader! :)

I’ll be keeping an eye out now for the Canadian ones but haven’t noticed one for a good while.
Certainly big progress from these … which do have plenty of charm.
I know they weren’t made for each other but the bund and the Spaceview are a perfect combination. If anything it enhances the watches appeal - and hopefully preserves them all for a good bit longer.

As far as I know nobody makes a lumed reproduction Spaceview crystal, and I’ve looked! These hands and crystals are made in Switzerland. I bought mine from Clark on eBay. That’s why it just drives me nuts when people use the wrong crystals, or cut down dials for spacers, or even worse, paint hands white that aren’t supposed to be Spaceview hands, especially railroad hands! The reproduction parts are there! They aren’t even expensive! I don’t think anything in Accutron collecting makes me crazier than white painted railroad hands.

As someone who sadly has large wrists, I have to put it on a bund strap. On a 19 mm it just disappears. I think a Spaceview on a bund strap has a very Fallout 4 look, and that appeals to me.

Very interesting info!
Mine is a ‘65 - very close to yours!
Hands glow nicely, no lume anywhere else.
I find it interesting that this movement was used in NASA command modules, and one is still on the moon along with the rover! (So I have read)
Driven to watches (researching and collecting affordably) by the boredom of COVID lockdowns. My - possibly attainable - grail watch would be a 6245 (Seiko or Grand Seiko) in nice condition … someday.

Love this model, mine say hi 😜. These look really cool and have some great engineering behind them along with a cool humming sound!

I compare the sound to that of a mosquito in your ear - not quite what I was expecting but soothing once you’ve got used to it.
