My thoughts on Tudors work this year

Tudor just revealed their new watches and I have some thoughts:

The GMT: is cool and there was a much needed upgrade for tudors gmt game and we sure got a good upgrade so with the gmt I’m quite pleased so I can’t complain 5/5

The Gold Black bay 58: absolutely sucks, when you buy a Tudor you want to get a tough watch that can take it all but the gold 58 is unnecessary and feels like a placeholder. 2/5

The black bay monochrome: I think this was a smart release from Tudor as the METAS black bay was a success it only made sense for Tudor to release another one in a safe color that is bound to sell well so it is a bit of a cash grab and I personally prefer the red one but I know many people will enjoy the monochrome option and do like the option to pick a color other than red. So I respect it. 4/5

Clair de rose: I appreciate that Tudor put in at least a bit of effort into Their dress watches but just changing the dial color is not good enough but in fairness it is a good looking dial so I can’t hate on it too much but it would have been nice to see and no date version of the Clair de rose. 3/5

Overall Tudors effort where passable and it is clear they put all their money on the gmt and cheaped out on the rest. The Balck bay 58 GMT and the balck bay MATAS monochrome carry Tudor this year but I hope to see more verity next year as 50% of thair new watches are Black bay 58s and 75% of Thair new watches are from the black bay collection.

Over all this year I think tudor deserves a 4/5 on their new releses

If the Clair de Rose was in 36 or 38 I’d wear it …very Cartier vibe .

Gold versions of watches are like jewelry. It's a status symbol more than a tool watch. The combination of gold and green is desirable, but Tudor's isn't the prettiest gold-green combo out there. I'd surely pick the Omega Moonwatch in Sedna Gold with Green dial for the same price:

I think "passable" is very kind of you. Sure, Tudor did a bit better than Rolex appears to have done, but they're both pretty lazy approaches to development.

What I find amusing is that there is a definite cohort of watch enthusiasts who get very sniffy about homage manufacturers (especially from AliExpress) for doing nothing original. And yet here are two of their favourite brands doing ... nothing original.

More versions of the Black Bay... Yay! How many different variations are there now... 80? 😒

I'm hoping for a collaboration with Swatch soon.

Well if they made the monochrome BB in 37mm I would be on it in a hot minute. 😊I am a sucker for high contrast.

Honestly, I’ve got to say the GMT has got to be my favorite of them 👍🏻
