First Rolex
Got the call for my first Rolex on Tuesday and picked up today. I genuinely wasn't interested in the brand when I very belatedly started my collection two years ago. Interest grown in a non-flashy Rolex since and got myself on the list for an Explorer 40 after a significant event in my life and wanted something to always remind me of my wonderful, wonderful Mom.

Love for Rolex for whatever reason.
Now I’m definitely interested in the Datejust and explorer. So much difference seeing them in person and on wrist vs pictures/video.

For me, until I knew too much I assumed Rolex was just a status symbol. I also never dreamt I'd be willing to spend this sort of money on a watch. When I came to decision to do so, with Rolex you get the added assurance that despite it being expensive, it's instantly worth more than you pay for it, so I had that reason/excuse to do it.
