On the tail of my post from last night, I wanted to share the calculator watches my dad had worn so long ago and showcase the absolute abuse they took hahaha. He had these back on the early 90s and late 80s, though I have to do research to see how old they ought to be. I put a battery in one and she perked back to life. The other with the chunk out of the button didn't fair so well. They are still so cool to have in my collection. Loads of character. Usually, I wouldn't want a scratched to hell watch, but since they were my dad's true to the words, daily beater, I am all about it. The beige ca53 is modern if you aren't familiar with them.

I'll never own a Rolex but I do have a few Casio's. They're at least 30 years old and pop a battery in and they're good to go. I'm not shitting on Rolex but could you imagine what a 30 y/o daily driver Rolex would look like? Probably not good. Unless you sat in the safety deposit box with it.

I agree wholeheartedly! Hey, if you dig Rolex than go for it, but man these casio's are beasts and especially for your money. Brand name isn't everything..did I say that out loud on a watch enthusiast site?? I used to ride motorcycles. I got made fun of for riding an 82 yahama maxim. I loved ot when I was still riding, but everyone else was riding Harley's, thus I was riding a Hardly Davidson. Silly thing to say for most, but I would have taken that 1982 maxim over just about all those Harley's. My mind tends to go the same route with watches. I don't care for Rolex, but love my Casio.
After thinking about it I have seen a daily driver Rolex. My ex father-in-law owned a pawn shop. He bought a Rolex off some guy. I've seen better looking watches at Goodwill. At least he ran with the big dogs I guess. Whatever you like rock it!
