First purchase of 2024!
First watch purchase of 2024! Also the first impulse buy since I wasn't even aware of its existence until 48 hours ago (even though it's been out for some time). It's the Casio G-shock GAB001SF-7A.
The watch is part of a series of "Futurist" white case G-Shocks with the 5690 module that links to your phone via Bluetooth.
The watch is bigger than I normally wear but I like how the integrated strap curves to wrap around the wrist. Plus, it's super light at only 51 grams.
This particular model also solves one of the GAB001 series biggest flaws: the lume is only on the hands, making it very hard to orient in total darkness without pressing the light button.
This model's "solution" is additional lume on the lettering of the case itself. Not ideal but really cool looking.
Selling points aside, I bought I because it reminds me of a Stormtrooper uniform. Thoughts?

Now that is just a beauty. Really like the ultramodern look. It's hard to keep up with all of Casio's releases.
I just bought the Casio AQ-S810W. It's also an enormous white watch. I call it the great white whale. But don't call me Ishmael. I wasn't searching for it around Perdition's Flames, I just happened to see it in the case at Walmart. Like Moby Dick himself, way too big, way too white, way too much attitude. Doesn't fit in anywhere. I like it.
