Throwback Thursday with a timepiece that is prominent and meaningful to me.

It might be a lengthy read, so take your time if necessary.

It's my father's TAG Heuer 2000 Series, Ref. WK1113

I’m not very familiar with its history or this specific year manufacture model, but based on my childhood memories and reorganize the watch collection, I clearly remember him wearing this watch around the 2000s. The condition of the watch shows wear and tear, that scratches tell a tale.

He received this gift from the company as a token of appreciation for his hard work and dedication, recognizing his skill as a true salesman. It truly exemplifies the sacrifices made to provide for the family, with sweat and blood, especially when he worked so hard to ensure our living expenses were covered and food is on the table.

It's interesting to note that coincidentally my mom also has the ladies' version considering its a couple's watch, in which she bought separately. It made me wonder if they were purchased together, but they actually weren't.

Although my father may not share the same love for watch hobby as I do, I will always support and stand by him whenever I can. I strive to be his dedicated son and help him thrive. This piece will once again be the most significant for me, holding sentimental value.

Love you Dad, and thank you for supporting me just as I do.

Anyway if you made it through,

Thank you for reading and have a great day, Crunchfam. Peace Out! ✌🏻

What a beautiful story Glen! I pray that my son feels the same way about some of the watches I will pass down to him. We have shared many experiences together and this hobby is one we both appreciate. Thanks for sharing your mother and fathers wonderful story 🙏.

Thanks Danilo! It's fascinating how timely objects can hold such sentimental value and strengthen the ties between loved ones. I hope that the watches you pass down become cherished heirlooms. Passing the torch and embracing one man's hobby is making another life's worth. Deep but it's true👍

Good read. I'm not too familiar with Tag other than how much name-dropping they've done during football games in Europe, but the color on the dial is nice. I like how the ladies version is just as tough looking as the larger one. I guess I would've expected more effeminate design elements to differentiate it and maybe appeal more to women, aside from the smaller size. Nope, not here. If it's tough for him, it'll be just as TOUGH for her too. 💪

Thanks man. In this case, the size distinction doesn't really matter much because the men's size still fits similarly to a women's size. Like you said, it's more about the durability and toughness matters with this, unlike modern watches that typically range from 38 to 40 sizes, it's a whole different level. 👌
