My Uncle’s Seiko, literally . . .

I'm beamed with joy! Finally, my uncle and I got our hands on the ultra-desirable Seiko watch. Another Japanese craftsmanship of this limited-edition piece is truly unparalleled -and that allure was strong enough to bring us together across oceans in pursuit of it. Searching and contemplating, he finally got the coolest watch.

It was a memorable moment to hold these special watches in our hands as we both shared an unspeakable joy. After searching for days deciding that we had found a reasonable seller that had good reviews, he bought it for himself and I'm so glad he got one!

Do you remember when style and function blended effortlessly?

The reissue is based on the 1968/1969 Seiko 5 Sports 6106-8120

When timepieces kept up with the adventurous spirit of a generation, not minutes behind or milliseconds ahead. Back in 1968-69 Seiko introduced their revolutionary model 5 6106-8120 sports watch.

This precision piece bumped elbows with other prestigious brands racing for the title “best sustainable sports watch” back in the day. The classic design was iconic - an elegant stainless-steel case fit into 37 mm horological canvas that made space at 12 o'clock for colorful retro scripts plus indicating day & date windows; water resistant to ± 7 bar/ 70m; hacking movement actioned by both wrist movements without having to be wound manually every 24 hrs.

The sporty looking face stands out in rich detail against the stainless-steel case, giving off an air of 1970s sports sophistication far surpassing any other watches in the collection.

It's amazing to witness how much nostalgia even just glancing through a classic timepiece can bring back for anyone who loves watches as deeply as him – from those memories of growing up with its style to the equally remarkable ones ahead that will last another lifetime.

His Piece on my wrist!

For now the watch may be initially appealing to those who appreciate its classic design, but there are some distinct areas for improvement.

Here are some notes worth highlighting:

- What do you expect from a $500-$600+ Limited Edition Watch? Sapphire instead of mineral. Makes it even more premium or special.

- Superb grip on the frictional/ bi directional-bezel. Would it make a difference if is default uni-directional 120 clicks?

- Only limited up to 15,555 pieces. If you're on the hunt for this Seiko SRPK17, prepare yourself: it won't come easy or price (I noticed it would inflate at some point)

- The Crown could have been more accessible. ( I had trouble reaching it out for the first time. )
