People have posted specific pet peeves they have so I thought I would just post the question without limiting the peeve. I’ve thought about it for a while and I finally undersides mine.
It is people who mention only the manufacturer and the reference number when talking/posting about a watch.
OK, it is easy enough to do a Goggle search and find out what watch they are talking about, but what is the purpose?
I acknowledge that is how you really tie it down, but really?

Bonus when it's a "which should I get" and two or more numbers are listed sans imagery. If you want people's help, you have to make it easy for them.
I assume everyone knows what a Casio F-91W is, so I guess other people think the same of some Sinn or Seiko. Or they are lazy jerks, or somewhere in between.
What else are you wanting them to mention? There are some situations where images may be appropriate, such as the "which should I get" posts that @PoorMansRolex mentioned, but that's not always the case.
I had to post a photo to show what a BLNR is… to a member with Rolex as part of his user name.
It’s best to keep things simple and easy. It is very hard to underestimate the public.

Flipper tax
