1918 Waltham Service Photos

I wanted to share some photos that I though the community would find interesting. This is a Waltham hunting style pocket watch movement that was cased in a wrist watch case. It belonged to my father in law. After he passed away I had it fully serviced and it is keeping great time. The movement is dated from about 1918 while the case is probably from the early 1920s. The dial is porcelain while the hands are heat blued steel. I just think the movement looks so cool so I wanted to share. I still wear this watch on occasions.

Beautiful piece with a great story Gabriel. Good job it came to someone invested in looking after it 👍 real heirloom 😍

Pocket watches always had such gorgeous dials (yeah, yeah and the movements were incredibly styled and decorated too), but this one lends itself to wrist wear incredibly well too. So clean and legible but still plenty of style. The case doesn't look belie that this a recasing whatsoever either.

Thanks Chris! I really appreciate it. It’s amazing that it is over 100 years old and still ticking away.

Thank you Oscar! yes it’s a real clean and timeless design. It’s 36mm so it wears very nicely. I think the case is from the Star Watch Case Co. I think that’s defunct now.

You have moved from vintage to antique.  Great watch.
