New (and first) Grand Seiko- SBGN027

Hello all -

Last night I picked up my first Grand Seiko - the SBGN027. I cross-shopped this against the Black Bay 58 and a Tudor Pelagos, and am very happy I picked the GS.

The specs are crazy - 200m WR, accuracy of +/- 10 seconds per year, a five year service interval, 39mm diameter and a thickness of under BB Pro proportions. My only gripes are the lack of framing on the date window, and a 19mm lug width. Otherwise, this is a phenomenal watch!

Awesome Grand Seiko! Congrats! You can never go wrong with a GS!

Wow look at that polish!

Interesting placement of date window.. I like it.

Congrats 🍾

I expect you’ll find the 9F quartz far more accurate than the advertised +/-10spy. Mine has gained +0.5 seconds in the past year 🤯

Wow. That’s just impressive. I’ve noticed that mine is more accurate than my iPhone.

As with any movement, individual experience may vary. But every report I’ve seen is the 9F movements perform much better than the advertised spec.

If there's one reason to go quartz with GS, this is it.
