Having made a long trip from the other tip of the Eurasian continent, there it is, my third San Martin!
Starting to build a story with San Martin, with the most recent chapter being this great way to add a bit of gilt to the collection, this Rootbeer bezeled SN0116.
Back to the story, I guess it a bit mirrors the evolution of the brand across the years. It all started with my Pelagos homage, a great piece that draws more than inspiration from it's Tudor desing. Then went with my white dial GMT, that again took great design cues from the same brand but avoiding the carbon copy with the white dial (which I believe Tudor did not have on the BB Pro at the time) - so homage with some originality.
And then the triumvirate became complete, with this (as far as I know) original design.
This one got on my radar wit the initial summer colourways of the blues and avocado versions, but never pulled the trigger as was unsure on the wrist time I would give them.
And then came this one, spotted before on an In the Loupe YT video and immediately caught then. Investigated a but further, pulled the trigger and after a month long wait (reminiscent of old school Ali buys), there it came in the post!
Not being a gilt/gold man, was at times missing an option - this one fills the gap beautifully! Then the vintage vibe it gives with the gilt, the bezel, the beads of rice and the skin diver feel..
Honestly only own this for a bit over an hour, but feel it is a keeper!

The SN0116 GMT is one of the most pleasant surprises I encountered.
No, it is not a Tudor or Rolex, but the ceramic bezel and beads of rice bracelet make it both attractive and pleasing to wear.

I have to agree on the originality, and then comes the multitude of dial options. Love your GMT world time bezel, and the completely different vibe mine gives. Let's not forget about the beach and avocado colours... Not only original, but what a versatile platform they come up with!
