Not trying to be facetious - eBay, and buy the seller not the watch.

Not sure where you are based, so what is in your local market may vary, but look for Swiss Made and Incabloc on the dial.

Depends on what you are looking for because you can also get something retro or modded that also fits the bill… and also what size you are comfortable to wear as vintage is smaller than the average.

I suppose 41mm and below and I am wide open to suggestions.

You might be able to get a used dressKX or 5KX or Citizen diver for that sort of money.

This was my strategy - "Incabloc" in title and description. Limiting price to under £30 is a good way of learning what to look for and what to avoid through trial and error.

Vintage Rotary and Accurist can also offer great value in the UK as both brands have gone downmarket compared to their 50s-70s heyday. Or defunct brands which have long gone bust. I would avoid at all costs any brands which are still prestigious today in the sub-£100 bracket - far more fakes and Frankens.

If you know what you're looking for you can occasionally even pick up solid gold dress watches that the seller doesn't realise are gold for under £100.

I personally don't "buy the seller", I rely on my knowledge and experience and eBay's excellent buyer protection - if it's not as described you can basically return it for free. Of course you do need to know your stuff, study photos very carefully to make sure you don't miss any problems and make sure that the seller states that it's working. Hence practice makes perfect - see above.

The jpeg of the first piece (Centaur) you show is sublime! Outstanding.
