Timex waterburry G.M.T. review

An actually impressive watch for the price, it looks beautiful, works wonderful, the weight is great, the size is good, even though not too big, the gmt pusher to adjust it quickly is practical but could be accidentally pushed, the indiglo is good enough, but perhaps could be better, the leather strap is comfortable and looks great.

The color combination gives it a nice retro look and I think it is great to look at, very pretty watch, the rotating bezel only rotates one direction, which I believe is a bit of a disadvantage but isn't a problem, if you want a cheap g.m.t. this should be one of your options, even though it is in a quartz movement, timex really have been releasing some wonderful watches and this is a good example, it is great specially considering that you can pick it up for less than $200 USD, and even cheaper if you find it with a discount as I did and payed half the msrp, for being a budget watch it really delivers as promised, which is why I don't seriously pay attention to it's minor flaws or details, it just is a bargain, it is so good.

I like the retro Pepsi style bezel, I have seen that some people's watches have bezels that don't exactly match or click perfectly, which is unfortunate, but isn't really a huge deal and isn't bad, you would really have to measure it to realize it isn't perfect in some examples of the watch. The dial looks great in white, but also in blue, I think the green seconds hand with the waterburry logo is great, a unique detail, not everyone likes it. But I think it is really nice.

I've noticed the watch is still on early stages of sales and hasn't been out for long, but I think it should be a sales success, another great watch by the brand whose only option I'd take over it or at least consider I would equally like is the Q G.M.T. which looks great, but I took the waterburry as I think it looks more original or unique.

  • Good design, nice colors
  • G.M.T. function works well and practical
  • The price is great
  • The bezel only rotates one way
  • The pusher button for the 4th hand could easily be accidentally pressed
  • The indiglo isn't the best, but works really good, not really a problem at all

This is just my personal opinion, if you want to chip in and give your point of view it would be great, so we can have as much information and opinions on this watch

I haven't seen this version of the waterberry it's striking in looks and great value. Not my bag but I can see it's appeal. Timex are doing some awesome watches.

I wanted to get the two tone one with the two tone bracelet. Looks very nice!

I saw this on Amazon. I prefer quartz for GMT function, so I almost pulled the trigger. But I blew out my budget already haha.

It looks really nice, I personally liked the leather strap better but the bracelet is absolutely stunning and worth it

Your rotating bezel is mainly for measuring length of time. If you set the marker on the bezel to the minute hand position you can observe the time elapsed since you set it to that point. The bezel rotates on an anticlockwise direction and this helps prevent you from accidentally moving your bezel marker in such a way as to shorten your timing period. I don't believe that it is a disadvantage to have the bezel rotate in only one direction.

Valid point, but i think in GMT'S the bezel rotates both ways in order to be able to set time zones ahead of the local time or behind, at least that's what the original GMT, the rolex GMT master.
