Picked up this circa 1955 Gruen Precision (17 Jewel, handwind) for $50 at my local watch/clock repair shop. Runs great, has a bit of patina, and otherwise seems like it's in awesome condition.
Mine’s not nearly as pretty as yours, but came in a lot of seven watches in pretty rough shape. Got her cleaned up as best I could and a did a minimal service to get her running again. Pretty satisfying as a DIY project.

Looks like you did a great job! I really like that dial layout.
I was surprised how well and easy it wears. Have you had similar experience?

I have three eBay vintage examples I resurrected, all 34mm and I really like the smaller size. Size is really a matter of fashion and trends. I know own/wear watches that range from 34 to 42mm.
Just saw a modern (now Chinese owned) Gruen quartz at a shop. I looked up the brand and it was started in Columbus Ohio close to where I grew up. Then I was very interested. The 1970s quartz crisis finished off the company and the another company from China purchased it. The ones posted look great! I want to find a nice vintage one now to remind me of home.

Gruens from the mid 50’s and earlier are gorgeous and well made timepieces. Finding one in pristine condition, however, can be very challenging.
