This may have been mentioned a lot but I have just watched a lovely documentary about George Daniels and Roger Smith. It’s from 2015 and on Amazon Prime here in the UK. Worth watching if you’ve not seen it
I am from Liverpool, live in Scotland with my wife and 2 young children. I’ve always worn a watch but never gave them too much thought. I wanted to get something to mark my 40th and happened to see so...

I watched I a little while ago really enjoyed it 👍
It's a facinating documentary which I thoroughly enjoyed. The best part for me was that it really highlighted Roger Smith's determination & drive to become the best watchmaker he possibly could under the greatest & toughest mentor possible.
Roger Smith is driven by standards of craftsmanship that go way beyond the leading watch brands of the world. It's not about money, it's about perfection. His humility throughout the documentary is astonishing. He is the antithesis of the glamour, high fashion & image of the luxury watch industry & I find his virtuosity really inspiring.
I JUST saw the thumbnail for this the other day, I was super curious but didn’t have time for a movie, now I will definitely check it out
Just watched this now and searched if it's been mentioned on here before! It's a great documentary, not that I'll ever be able to get a RW Smith watch! Wouldn't it be good if he did an entry level brand like how Kurono Tokyo came about?!
