OP is underrated

Among the models that Rolex offers , I think the oyster perpetual is wildly underrated.

Especially in this white and gold colour configuration, it is absolutely stunning. But, I don’t see many people talking about the OP, rather talking about other models like the SUB , Daytona and datejust.

The retail price is even less then the explorer which I also think is underrated. I think the OP should be more talked about as it’s looks and priced perfectly.

The OP is the one Rolex that I covet. I used to think the Red Grape was the one for me but the one you have pictured would do the job too 😍

Same, it's my favourite Rolex, just dislike the round indices on most of their other watches.

·

The yellow OP was the one for me. Too bad it got discontinued.

Yes the OP 41 with either the silver or black dial is pretty much my grail watch. Very understated and perfect proportions. I’ve tried a couple on recently, green and black dial. It’s a beautiful watch and as you say, seems to be over looked, but you still can’t get one.

My regular ad sells Rolex watches but not here in Toronto, boutiques in other provinces carry Rolex but my spend history is not worth the price of a complimentary Perrier water at those shops, I was able to examine an OP when a SA who owns one was transferred to Toronto, for me it was a bit underwhelming which surprised me since my dad wore a 60s steel OP his entire adult life. It is one of my most treasured watch tokens. I have always thought that I might pick a modern iteration when supplies become regular.

I agree! In particular the green dial watch. A hidden gem!

The word "underrated" is practically meaningless in the watch context. It is used to mean that "I like something more than others seem to."

Some version of this watch has been around since 1931, an underrated year.

·

Right? I can't even walk into an AD and walk out with an OP. Underrated is not the right word here.

I was just taking to my grandfather about his watch! Very classic and beautiful. He bought this back in the 80’s and never got it serviced not even once. It never left his wrist ever since. This will definitely be passed down to me. I want to be part of this watch journey
