First Watch Build

I built a NamokiMods kit and am overall pleased with the result. It was a fun learning experience and great to make something that works and ticks!

I bent the seconds hand slightly and clipped off the wrong dial feet, so the dial is cocked, but everything works!

The quality of the kit was fine. The tools were relatively cheap, but got the job done. The QC on the hands left a little to be desired, but the color of the dial is great. My biggest gripe is that the instructions are terrible. I ended up following a youtube video for most of it instead.

I'd recommend it as a fun activity, not as quality watch.

My first build was a DIY Watch club and like you really enjoyed it. The seconds hand was a pain to set but being able to say I built it makes it worth it. Congrats on your first build 👍

Cool build but is it me or did you intentionally made it to look crooked?

Namoki normally sells rather high-quality cases and components. I would keep practicing. After a few builds you will be able to make a watch that works for you in every way, including the quality.

I cut the wrong dial feet, so it was not intentional, but I was gonna finish the thing!

Definitely not judging the company as a whole. Just giving my opinion of the total kit.

Generally, the watch parts seem fine. The hands came scratched, the bracelet and tools are cheap, and the instructions are terrible.

I'm just surprised because Namoki is slightly pricier than other watch part vendors, and I was willing to pay extra because of designs that were otherwise not available, and/or the quality of their parts.

I would definitely let them know that the hands came scratched. (I would definitely let them know.) The tools are probably the same starter tools you will find almost anywhere. I just looked at the price of the kit. Okay, I understand where you are coming from. A cheap bracelet is not what I would expect at that price. Or let me rephrase slightly: I wouldn't expect a bracelet that feels cheap. While the clasps are surely pressed, the endlinks seem solid for the ones they advertise online.

I use these and it works and was recommended by our fellow builders … just cut the feet all of it and use this tape…
