My spouse recently inherited some of her grandmother's jewelry and in the box we found two vintage watches: a Timex and a Seiko (pictured).
I noticed the Seiko didn't say quartz anywhere, so I gave it an experimental wind and it started ticking away! My partner was so excited and we even found a few extra links in the box, so I was able to size it up for her to wear.
I did a little digging and with the help of a youtube video and this website - https://serial-number-decoder.co.uk/ - found out that this watch was manufactured in December 1976! This 50-year-old watch hasn't been serviced in at least a decade, but sprang to life with just a few winds.

Loving the bracelet. 😊

It's so unique! If we decide to get it serviced, we will definitely not get it polished. Don't want to lose any of that detail.
That is a unique piece, my friend, hope she keeps it

Definitely! She has been really excited about it and has been relishing the memories of her grandmother.
