Vietnam Elgin

Ever since I began collecting I've really enjoyed how vintage and used watches come with often years worth of stories, and sadly oftentimes when you are buying them on auction sites and estate sales much of that history is lost between owners. Lately I've found myself looking specifically for watches that have been personalized or engraved, as I really enjoy the little peeks at the life of the person who owned it originally. The idea of getting to add to the collection of experiences that the watch has been part of while it continues collecting stories is incredibly appealing.

I've always been a history buff, with an emphasis on 20th century War and politics; so you can imagine how excited I was to find this recently. I have a couple other watches with interesting stories to them, and I'm sure I will post about eventually, but this is by far my favorite find to date.

Weird engraving on that one, but history is history and every engraving tells a story.
