I've tried the toothbrush thing but never left it on longer than a few hours and it wasn't enough to take it from 1 month to 6 months on my indicator. Best method I've found is doing the 'wine swirl' to oscillate the rotor during meetings, tedious but something to fidget with.
I charge mine using a Phillips candle induction charger, takes a couple of days to get 6 months. Much more reliable than toothbrush chargers as the orientation of the watch doesn't matter so much. Plus I can do 3 watches at once if I choose.

Outstanding. Do you have a model number please? Does the watch stop during the charge event?

They don't make them anymore unfortunately, but there's usually a few on eBay. They are Phillips imageo rechargable candles, I think the model number is 69108/60/PU. The watches don't stop or anything while charging, and only get slightly warm. I can't take any credit for discovering them by the way, someone on another Seiko forum posted a few years ago 🙂
Any induction charge can work, in theory. You will need to experiment to see what works. Perhaps the best solution is to find a good used Seiko Kinetic Energy Supplier. I have one and it keeps my Kinetics happy 100% of the time. You will have to shop around for a good used one because they are not made anymore $100-$200 is a fair price.

I do that, too. I can hear the rotor sound in my sleep.

Thanks John . That's a great idea. I wish that my Seiko had a meter on it. But once charged, this one is good for 4 years on the shelf. But what did you think of my drill? Bitchin, no? Lol

The drill thing is scary.... If you do find a charging solution, I'd recommend charging once a month or so to extend the life of the capacitor. If you let it run down low it won't last as long as it would if you regularly charge it up. The kinetics I own have a couple of months power reserve, and I charge them every few weeks.
As I’ve said in the past: There is a YouTuber who compared getting one of these things to getting a puppy, in that it requires ongoing attention and care.

So of course I bought three.
SHREWD! 😜
Hahaha. Glutton for Punishment. But their movements are much more interesting than a dog's!
I'm old, from SOCAL, Northern Nevada, and now Alabama. I seek variety, quality, and something that piques my interest. I do not invest in watches but strongly admire quality/ $$.

No. A Kinetic watch is charged by movement. https://www.google.com/search?q=seiko+kinetic#kpvalbx=_lykvZJfYD4zzgQaUrI64CA_42
It looks like it won't. https://www.regardingwatches.com/2021/05/charging-seiko-kinetic-watch-ska-787.html
The best way is to probably just wear it on the regular basis to keep it going.

I'll just keep doing this then? And thanks to all.
Some on YouTube say that an electric toothbrush charger will work. I haven’t tried it yet.

Again you are insightful. The..drill.... 1 to 2 RPM only... not fast enough for much danger.

BRILLIANT…and true.
