The grass is always greener!!

Wow, you've all got such cool watches!! Does anyone else do this? Do you look at your own scratched pieces with mild frustration, yet other peoples' "patina" seems to look cool? Perhaps you've got some rough, unkempt leather straps, yet other people seem to have cool, nicely-aged leather? Maybe one of your watches looks a little big on you, and yet other people seems to have huge watches dangling off their wrists, and it all looks so cool... WTF?

I've got to stop being so critical about myself in this hobby... If I gave myself the kind of credit I give to other people, I would have WAY more fun with this.. Anyone else feel the same?

I think that a lot of it depends on the photo. Stuff that is very worn can look quite cool with the right lighting and background "ambiance." In-person, a beat-up watch is a beat-up watch!

You could try your hand at some artistic photos...or just embrace the wear and tear as memories! 😀

I can not afford the quality of some of the watches that I see here.  I certainly can not buy a watch a week.  I have to be happy with what I have.  We all have the green eyed monster within us.

I won’t lie… every time Speedy Tuesday rolls around and my feed gets flooded with wristshots of future astronauts I am green with envy. Beyond wanting to own one… it’s a great model for the camera. I am still happy I can partake with shots of my own chronographs but it’s not the same.

I’d say scratches and scuffs bring character… but if the band has seen better days, I welcome every excuse to buy another nato 😂

Or, as us uneducated slobs say; Shiny things won't make you happy in the long run, learn to be happy with what you already have.

We all have scars, why wouldn't our watches?

Absolutely. It's photographic skill that makes beat up worn out things look good.
