Ranking watches by price - my wife's take
I did this a while ago, but considering my collection has changed massively since, I thought I'd do it again and ask my wife to rank my core collection of watches in order of what she thinks cost me the most. Perceived value is not important to me, but I thought it would be an interesting experiment to get a non-watch enthusiast's POV on what they think looks impressive/expensive. Her order is on top, actual order is on the bottom. Key take aways from my wife "the top pick seems clean cut and really well designed (Seiko Alpinist), the bottom pick just looks bulky (Seiko Monster)". Take from this what you will! But hey, she got the first two right! And it's interesting that the Vostok made it so high in her ranking 🤔

I thought it was interesting that she put the giant unpainted bezel last but the big black bezel got 3rd. I guess black bezel looks more posh... I'm amazed she got the first two right considering how many dark dialed, steel cased watches in the collection. No surprise that she ranked the gold watch in the top row. It's got bling compared to the rest. Interesting experiment.
