The watch that started it all!

My great grandfathers pocket watch given to him on his 21st birthday by my great great grandfather over 110 years ago! And ot works perfectly! Does anyone else own a prescot watch? Or a family heirloom?

Awesome piece and truly a heirloom

That's an awesome piece, made so much more interesting with the personal connection.

I don't have either a Prescot watch, or a family heirloom, but I do have 3 pocket watches, including this "Dingwall" from 1901 which I picked up recently from an estate sale, including the original box. It was pretty common in those days for jewelers to place their name on watches made by other manufacturers. Dingwall was apparently a local "diamond merchant" at the turn of the 20th century, and this particular watch features a Hamilton railroad grade movement.
