Crazy idea for a build!

Has anyone replaced an HMT movement with... say.... an nh35? I found HMT pilot with a dial I love but I've had bad luck with ebay buys. So I thought, for $26, who cares about the movement. Maybe find a different case, put the dial on an Seiko movement, replace the handset, and Bob's your uncle. Just wondering if anyone has tried. Or should I think about using a Miyota movement?

The dial is nice. You just have to make sure all the measurements add up. Dial size, dial feet size and location. Movement size. If I'm not mistaken the SII no date movement is the NH38. I may be wrong.

I thought about the dial feet. I might use dial dots to hold it to the movement. I used them on another build when the dial showed up with broken dial feet on one side. It worked well.

And you're right about the NH38.

Sure is a nice dial, I'd love to hear if it works out
