Tudor Black Bay 39 (2023)

Hello all,

I looked at the new Tudor Black Bay 39 (M79660-0001) today at an AD, I really like this one.

What are your opinions about the watch?

It was my favorite release from Tudor at Watches and Wonders this year. Its gorgeous with an in-house movement too. Go for it!

·

Looks cool but need to see in person before formulating an opinion.

·

Winner. This is a daily watch/strap monster.

·

It’s a good watch, but I’ve personally never been a fan of their snowflake hands

·

Yep big fan. And I love the snowflake! A proper quality GADA!

·

I really like the blue with the Sunray dial. They didn’t have it to try so I tried the champagne dial on. Very good looking in person and really love the new bracelet.

Saving and hoping to sell a couple of pieces from the collection to buy this beauty. Get it.

·

I saw it today at my local AD and the watch is 🔥🔥🔥. I would say it’s an underrated and overlooked watch by Tudor.

I’m thinking about getting the champagne dial.

·

Im in love with this watch. Did you get it?

Still hesitating? Or what are you waiting for?

On paper, this M79660-0001 model is a significant upgrade to its predecessors, given the new movement, bracelet & clasp as well as that anthracite dial 👍however, I still hold the opinion that the handset for this model feels a little "off".

I'll qualify this - the snowflake handset was derived from Tudor's diving heritage, and so my sentiment is that it should be retained on the divers, not the general sports watches. This is purely my opinion, so please feel free to think otherwise! However, I'll say this as a proud Tudor Royal owner, I really think they should have used a plainer (maybe baton-type) handset for this model instead.

Taking a step back, I believe that the bigger question is, what's already in your collection, and why would this piece add to your existing pieces that are in rotation. To partially answer that question, I looked at your gallery and spotted a few Tissots and an Apple watch.

In my mind, the Tudor is an excellent GADA (go anywhere, do anything) piece, as well as a point of differentiation in terms of taking that next step upwards in the value chain. However, is this the only watch you're considering for such a purpose? Do let us know what else is under consideration.

Yes, not a 100% shure about this one 🙈
