Seiko 7619 movement

Any experts that know the workings of a 7619 movement ?

I read that once you reach midnight, you need to turn the hands back to 8 o'clock, then forward again to change the day .(persnickety movement ?) Is this correct ?

This is not for the date, there's a quick set for that.

Some seiko have a quick set where if you use the quick set with the 12 at the top it does one and if you turn the watch upside-down it does the quick set for the other.
