I have a 15 slot watch box for luxury watches, a 18 slot watch box for entry-level luxury, a 15 slot for fun watches, and another 20 slots box for the watches that I don’t wear anymore.
I currently have (2) 12 slot boxes (neither are full). My original designation was Quartz in one and mechanicals in the other, but more recently I have changed to Keepers in one and Non-Keepers in the other. To be fair I haven't actually sold any yet, so I guess the better designator is "in rotation" and "out of rotation". As I am saying this I realize that I need to move a couple 🙂 .
I try to put them by style if possible. I may have a box of sports watches in one, divers in another and lastly dress watches in another. Although some can argue and say divers and sports watches can be classified as the same thing?

Seems like you're not quite decided on how to store them 😀

It's great reading all these... Didn't want to be the oddball... But I classify/segment mine by Quartz/Solar/Autos... With the Solar Watches getting the floating wood display which helps when I'm tanning them by the window 🪟 ☀️

As I rotate my #wruw by brand, I store them by brand.
Randomly, but always in the slot they came out of...
I have a 12 slot case for the “good” stuff and a 12 slot case for the “less good” stuff.
Some models flow in and out between the two cases as I reorganize, swap straps, etc.
2x6 slot boxes for my nice ones, rest are strewn randomly throughout the house 😅
Really gotta have a cull !!
5 slot for most worn/best watches.
10 slot for beaters/less worn.
12 slot for toys & watches in need of repair.
Purchase date.

I could definitely use a Watch Culling!

All steel case and bracelet or rubber strap at least 100m of water resistance. But that’s just me.
