When you know, you know
Back in September 2021 I picked up what I thought would be a permanent piece for my collection. The Longines Conquest L3.677.4.58.6 is the 41mm automatic variant with the older L633.5 movement in it. There was a lot to love about the watch but it wore a lot bigger than I was hoping for and the power reserve meant that it worked as a daily but would require winding and setting if I left it for the weekend. Ultimately, I sold it but I kinda really wanted one in the collection. Fast forward 2 years and I decided that the 39mm was the right size and that I really wanted the updated movement. Went to my AD and discovered that the watch had been recently discontinued. I was pretty bummed but the search continued.
Well as luck would have it I found one on Chrono24 and the seller was in my country so no need for duties and all that nonsense. It was the right choice. Absolutely love the size and style of this watch and have no plans to let it go anytime soon.
