I think this is a very good representation of how watch size is one of many factors when it comes to fit and form of a watch. Both are almost exactly the same diameter at the 3 o'clock position but due to materials, dial colour, bezel thickness, case shape, lug to lug, lug width and finishing, the two wear completely different.

Exactly. The Black dial wears more like a 39 and the White dial wears more like a 41.
