Faux Patina? Love it, or hate it?

Type 2 homage from AliX. If I have a milsub looking watch with an aluminum bezel insert I HAVE to force a patina on it. I just can’t help it. Some hate the look on it, but I love the look of a beat up, faded bezel. Really shows how hard I go at the office desk. This is my 3rd time fading a bezel, so I’m still getting the feel for it.

Don't necessarily like the forcing of the aging/distress process, but understand the idea and end goal you go for there.

On my side, can wait for the aging to go through, but yours looks good!

I just buy used vintage. No way I can spend hundreds of bucks to beat it up.

How about some gentle uv exposure instead of a fucking file? What did you do to the poor thing😂

Some brands will charge you for pre-scratched watches. I'm pointing my finger directly at Our Of Order (ooo) watches. They are rather expensive for what they are, and come pre damaged right out of the box.

A lot of hours under a UV grow light could fade it.... or a hammer?

Good thing I got this watch for dirt cheap. I would completely agree with you, I wouldn’t do it to a watch that costs more then 100 for me personally. But I am wanting to get better at modding, and fucking around with watches. Maybe I went a little overboard with the scratches. 🤷

Just buy the bezel and throw it inside a bag or container with sharp rocks and shake to give it a more natural looking scratches. The scratches on your bezel looks like when someone keys your car door out of anger. Live and learn is part of modding.
